The theme of this weeks services..

Today we hear Jesus praying for the protection and encouragement of his disciples.  We pray that in this Eucharist we too would know the protection, the love and the encouragement of God.

Welcome to our online news sheet

Dear Friends,

This month the Church celebrates the Feast of Pentecost and Trinity Sunday.

At Pentecost we celebrate God's gift of the Holy Spirit - a spirit that brings about change and growth and disruption, but a Spirit that seeks to unite us in our common service of our Lord.

Just as the Holy Spirit came down to encourage those first followers of Jesus, so we pray for a fresh outpouring of the Spirit in our lives together as the church.

On Trinity Sunday we celebrate the diversity we find reflected in the Godhead – and the diversity we find in each other –diversity than can be a symbol of unity and completeness, as we rejoice in each other’s difference and recognise each others gifts.

As I mentioned at our Annual Parochial Church Meeting, one of the joys in my ministry is working with our neighbours from other churches. This includes the work we do across denominations as Churches Working Together in Didsbury, and our work with our Anglican neighbours at St. Paul’s Withington, St. James and Emmanuel and St. Clement’s, Chorlton.

Over the coming weeks and months we will be welcoming different people to lead our worship on Sunday morning. I hope that you will make them feel at home, and I hope too that our life as a parish will be enriched by all they bring.

Please join with me in praying with a sense of gratitude for the way God is at work in so many diverse ways, in our own lives, in the life of our parish and in the life of the world, and may God’s transforming power be made known to each one of us afresh at this time.

Your friend

Anne
